Google sign-in: Pro adds one-click Google sign-in, with no Google client to set up. While Google reviews Ambifold, Google allows it for only 100 Google accounts in total, and shows a “Google hasn't verified this app” warning; once those places are taken, you connect through your own Google client, a one-time setup that the app walks you through, as in the free edition. Once Google approves Ambifold (expected in early 2027), one-click sign-in is for every Pro user. The free edition and the trial use your own Google client.

Contacts our server Never, unless you send us a problem report (privacy policy) or turn on health reports (privacy policy) To start the trial, to buy or activate Pro, and now and then to check it (privacy policy), when you send us a problem report, and once a week if you turn on health reports

Try Pro free for 14 days

Start the trial in the app, on its Pro page, or when you add a fourth folder or a second Google account. It needs no card and no account with us, and each computer gets one. After 14 days it simply ends: nothing is charged, and the free edition carries on as described below.

When Pro ends, nothing is deleted

When a trial or a subscription ends, three folders of one Google account keep syncing. You choose which in the app, at any time, even ahead of time. The other folders wait: their files stay on your computer and in Google Drive, untouched, and they carry on where they left off if you get Pro again. A sync that is running always finishes first, and the app says in plain words which folders keep syncing and which wait.

Paying, taxes and refunds

  • Paddle is our reseller and the merchant of record: it runs the checkout, takes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, sends invoices and handles refunds. Your card details go only to Paddle.
  • Prices are in US dollars and include tax. Where your country charges sales tax or VAT, it is part of the price, not added on top. Paddle shows the price in your own currency where it can, before you pay.
  • A yearly subscription renews by itself, at the price it started with. You can cancel it at any time in Paddle's customer portal (the link is in every email from Paddle, or go to paddle.net), and Pro stays until the end of the year you paid for.
  • A full refund within 30 days of your first payment, and within 14 days of each renewal, for any reason: see the refund policy.
  • Part C of our terms has the details.

Questions about Pro

What is the Founder lifetime licence?

One payment of $59 for Pro, for as long as Ambifold is offered: every Pro feature, now and later, and every update, on up to three computers. It's sold to the first 200 buyers only, and only until version 1.0 comes out, whichever comes first. That limits when you can buy it, not what you get: it keeps every update.

What if Google starts charging for one-click sign-in?

One-click Google sign-in comes with Pro: for the first 100 Google accounts while Google reviews Ambifold, then for every Pro user once Google approves it (expected in early 2027). If Google ever charges us per user for it, Founder licences keep everything else in Pro, and you connect with your own Google client, as the free edition does today. The same goes for subscriptions at the $15 founding price. Your folders and files are never affected.

What if Ambifold stops?

A Founder licence keeps working on the computers where it's activated. Activating it on another computer, or again after you reinstall Linux, needs our licence server: we intend to keep it running for as long as we offer Ambifold, but we can't promise it runs after that. A yearly subscription stops renewing, and Pro keeps working until the end of the year you paid for.

Can I get my money back?

Yes, within 30 days, for any reason, and within 14 days of each yearly renewal. The refund policy says how.

What happens when Pro ends?

Nothing is deleted. Three folders of one Google account keep syncing, and you choose which. The others wait and carry on where they left off if you get Pro again.

How many computers can I use it on?

Pro works on up to three computers at a time, and each Linux user account on a computer counts as one. To move it, remove Pro in the app on the old computer, or replace an old computer from the new one. The free edition works on any number of computers.

I pay yearly. Can I switch to the Founder licence?

Yes, while it's on sale: buy it, enter its code in the app, then cancel your yearly subscription in Paddle's customer portal. If your last yearly payment is still within its refund window, you can also ask for it back.

Do I need an account with you?

No. You pay at Paddle with your email address and get a licence code. There's no Ambifold account to create or sign in to.

Does Pro send my data anywhere?

Your files and Google data still go only between your computer and Google. With Pro, the app talks to our licence server to start the trial, to activate Pro and to check it now and then. It sends your licence code, a code made from your computer's ID (not the ID itself), the app's version and your Linux version's name, never files, folder names, Google data or your name. The free edition sends us nothing, unless you send us a problem report or turn on health reports. The privacy policy has the details.

I'm a beta tester. What changes for me?

If you set up Ambifold before 1 December 2026, Pro is free on that computer until 31 January 2027, with nothing to do. After that, you can try Pro free for 14 days, subscribe at the founding price, $15 a year, until at least 28 February 2027, or carry on with the free edition.
